Pearl Technology Supports Local Award

The 2008 Alliance Library System has announced the winner of its 2008 ALS Librarian of the Year Award, sponsored by Pearl Technology. The $1,000 award is presented to an outstanding risk-taker, innovator, or change agent contributing to the field of librarianship and library development. This year's Librarian of the Year Award recipient is Barbara A. Galik, ALS President from 2005-2008 and Executive Director of the Cullom-Davis Library at Bradley University.
According to nominator Charles Frey, Librarian and Associate Professor at Bradley University, "Since coming to Bradley 10 years ago, Barbara has worked tirelessly to improve student library services and ensure the collection meets current and anticipated curricular needs. She was among the first to appreciate the possibilities offered by multi-user virtual environments."
For five years, Pearl Technology has supported the Alliance Library System by sponsoring $1,000 for an award on behalf of the Alliance.
